MY FIRST LANDSCAPE QUILT

I hand-sewed and hand-quilted this 8 1/2 x 11" piece for an online class at joggles.com. Tthe instructor was Jane LaFazio - Jane has kindly verified that in a comment on this blog post! I highly recommend the class.

The quilt took weeks to do, but I loved the way it turned out. The free-hand quilting on the sky portion was the first time I ever did hand-quilting. It was 'ad-libbed' with no pattern or lines drawn. Much fun! When I showed it to my boyfriend David he loved it, and so did my good friend Nancy and my sister Sherry. Haven't shown it to anyone else yet! Tomorrow is Nancy's 60th birthday, and I will give it to her at her birthday dinner tonight, with a hand-sewn message on the back.
