This autumn, I have planted Abraham Darby roses - old-fashioned English roses by the David Austin company. (This is an Internet photo of what these roses look like at their peak.) The small but robust green and reddish-yellow bush arrived just as the weather unexpectedly turned cold and nasty, and I am hoping I got this already beloved bush into the ground in time. A thick blanket of mulch should keep it warm during the winter, and then, maybe in Spring .... ? We will see.

ooooooooooohhhhhhhh! beautiful!
I can just imagine the lush perfume arising from the blossoms on a warm summer's day... they smell really good (in my head). I'll send some good rose vibes your way!
Lovely photo-I'm sure your roses will be just as beautiful.

Thanks, Sherry, Leah and Debra...If the ones that bloom here are half as pretty as the ones in the photo I'll be happy!
