A Meal in Shanghai: Three Guesses!

Mmmmm.... looks good, doesn't it? A plateful of food freshly prepared for dinner in Shanghai. I wonder what it could be? I don't recognize it, so maybe it's a Shanghai specialty. Well, let's see, it's not fried bees - we've seen what they look like, and they're not the right shape. Not fried scorpions either - they are impaled on a stick, several on each stick. Seahorses? They're served on a stick too, poor things. and they have that distinctive shape. Those are my three guesses - what are yours?

6/5/08 - OK, OK, so nobody was curious. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matzah_brei

I restrained myself from "guessing" since I'm the Mom of the fried matzoh maker :). I taught him well...
